Cape Girardeau Regional Airport receives state funding for parking lot expansion

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The City of Cape Girardeau and Cape Girardeau Regional Airport just received a $350,000 grant for parking lot improvements that will be completed with the new Passenger Terminal Building construction project.

This expansion will add sixty-seven additional parking spaces to accommodate airline and restaurant parking while providing overflow for future flight student growth.

“This award couldn’t come at a better time as we continue to make necessary improvements at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport,” Airport Manager Katrina Amos said. “It will also free up funding to include other low-priority items currently not funded in the new Passenger Terminal Building.”

In addition to the expansion, improvements such as sidewalk, curb, and gutter, will be included.
