Cape Girardeau to host 7th annual Earthquake Summit on March 18

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Earthquake experts from across the region will convene in Cape Girardeau for the seventh annual Earthquake Summit on March 18.

The summit, to be held at the Osage Centre from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will feature sessions led by scientists, planners, researchers and emergency responders on topics such as earthquake geology, planning and response, and communication strategies.

Cape Girardeau, located in the New Madrid Seismic Zone, will host over 500 professionals for the event.

This year’s summit will include a first look at new data on potential local earthquake impacts throughout the region.
