Cape Girardeau welcomes Missouri’s largest single-barrel event in history

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Cape Girardeau Missouri and Capaha Park welcome Missouri’s largest single barrel event in history.
Volunteer bartender Patrick Koetting says, “it is an event that is done and put on by dogwood social ford group to take the place of the summer festival that we no longer have and also it’s the largest bourbon event that Cape Girardeau has ever seen so you have an opportunity try different store pics. Tons of whiskey brands represented as well some cocktails and live music.”

He invites the community to check out a wide selection of options, and enjoy live music, and more.

We talked to Cape Girardeau police officer Bobby Newton about how they are doing their part during the event.

Newtons says, “so we’re just out here to make sure everybody has a good time stay safe make sure there’s no incident. I don’t expect there to be, but we’re on hand in case anything happens.”

Newton says they are ready no matter what saying, “so we’ve got several offers that are out here to respond to anything that may occur on hand to make sure that everybody behaves themselves.”

Koetting invites everyone to come out and enjoy the nice weather and live music saying it’s a “heck of a time outside the weather is not too horrible.” He went on to say there is “Good food, food trucks are here as well as good bourbon.”
