Cape Noon Optimist Club doubles annual support for local youth programs

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Noon Optimist Club announced it expects to contribute more than $80,000 to youth-focused organizations in the Cape Girardeau area this year, doubling its typical annual giving.

According to the organization, the club usually provides more than $40,000 each year to support local youth programs and initiatives.

Organizations benefiting from the club’s contributions include Special Olympics, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Cape Youth Tackle Football, Care to Learn, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dream Factory and Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation, among others.

Club officials credited local sponsors for helping make the increased level of support possible. Restor Co. was recognized as a presenting sponsor for the club’s 2026 Chili Day fundraiser.

The Cape Noon Optimist Club said community partnerships and sponsorships continue to play a key role in funding programs that benefit young people throughout the region.
