CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Noon Optimist Club announced it expects to contribute more than $80,000 to youth organizations in the Cape Girardeau area this year, more than double its typical annual support.
According to the organization, the club normally provides more than $40,000 annually to programs that benefit local children and families.
Recipients of the club’s support include Special Olympics, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Cape Youth Tackle Football, Care to Learn, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Dream Factory and Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation, among others.
Club officials said the increased level of giving would not be possible without support from community sponsors. Spectrum Reach was recognized as a presenting sponsor of the organization’s 2026 Chili Day fundraiser.
The Cape Noon Optimist Club said community partnerships continue to help fund programs and opportunities for youth throughout the region.
