Cape Girardeau Regional Airport unveils new terminal: inaugural Chicago flight

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Regional Airport celebrated a major milestone today with the grand opening of its brand-new passenger terminal and the inaugural flight to Chicago.
Contour Airlines’ CEO, Matt Chaifetz, hailed the occasion as “exciting” for the community, citing the facility’s potential to boost air traffic and provide seamless connections to destinations worldwide via partnerships with American, Alaska, and United Airlines.
JoJo Stuart, the airport’s new terminal director, emphasized the terminal’s strategic importance, saying, “Flying through Chicago allows Cape Girardeau residents access to anywhere in the world.”
Former terminal director Katrina Amos, instrumental in bringing the project to fruition, expressed pride in the accomplishment, calling it “an amazing achievement” that meets the community’s needs.
The airport marked the occasion with a ceremonial water salute performed by local firefighters and invited the community to tour the new facility.
Flights to Chicago are now available for booking through the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport terminal.
