“Every year we come down as a demonstrator,” said Voices for Children/CASA of Southeast Missouri, Inc. Executive Director Sharon Hileman. “This year we got to pick our dates and we chose today so we’re having CASA Christmas in July, and we are here hoping that we can get some donations so that we can get some items for our kids for Christmas.”

From homemade Christmas gifts to a toy drive for kids, a lot of citizens came out to celebrate the Christmas in July event.

“Our organization is responsible for recruiting and training volunteer’s and once they go before a judge and get sworn in we have our supervisors Mark and Wonder (she’s not here today) but they supervise the volunteers who then go on to take cases for kids who are abused and neglected and placed in foster care,” said Hileman.
