CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Cape Riverfront Market to host Youth Entrepreneurship Festival.

The Cape Riverfront Market says they will be marking Saturday, June 6, as a day to celebrate Young Entrepreneurs.

The one-day event is aimed at the Mini Makers Market to encourage local youth to pursue entrepreneurship.

Made possible through grant money provided by SendAFriend and The Bank of Missouri, using the Cape Riverfront Market as a platform to sell products, and media exposure provided by Old Town Cape and community partners.

The event aims to instill an appreciation of business and entrepreneurship and encourage community involvement and support of small businesses and young entrepreneurs.

SendAFriend, The Bank of Missouri, and Old Town Cape will choose one grand prize of $1,000 and two Future Maker Grants of $500. Winners residing in Illinois or Missouri between the ages of 13 and 18 are eligible to receive this year’s grants. These awardees will also be featured on Cape Riverfront Market’s and Old Town Cape’s social media, along with a booth space to vend at the Cape Riverfront Market on June 6.

The purpose of the grant money provided helps to cover eligible business-related expenses: overhead costs, signage, marketing, permit fees, tables, chairs, display racks, manufacturing expenses, supplies, and equipment to create products, and more.

The Youth Entrepreneurship Festival Market will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street on June 6, 2026.

The Cape Riverfront Market takes place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday between May and October at 35 S. Spanish St. in Downtown Cape.
