Cape schools hold first student youth council committee meeting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Cape Girardeau Public Schools held their first student youth council committee meeting this week.

The committee is made up from students that go to Cape Public schools and are in grades 3 through 12.

Students from Alma Schrader, Blanchard, Clippard, Jefferson, Franklin, Central Middle School, Terry W. Kitchen Central Junior High, and Cape Central Highschool attended.

Students and their families were invited to a kickoff lunch at Central Office along with the building’s principals.

Students will now meet up for youth committee meetings to discuss topics they’d like to see addressed.

Students will be giving school leaders feedback on different topics they’d like to change to better enhance the education experience for students.
