Cape Splash closed Thursday due to overnight storm damage

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center will remain closed Thursday following significant storm damage overnight.

Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation said River Walking and Preschool Playtime have been canceled for Aug. 13 because of the damage.

Officials said safety is the department’s top concern as crews assess the facility.

The department hopes to reopen Cape Splash on Saturday and Sunday for its final weekend of the season.
