Cape Splash to open May 23 with new security measures, summer schedule

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – The Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center will open for the season May 23, according to city officials.

Opening day hours are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Riverwalking and Preschool Playtime programs will begin May 26. Morning sessions will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with evening sessions from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Monday through Wednesday. Select Saturday Riverwalking dates will also be offered throughout the summer.

Officials said security measures will include the possible use of metal detectors at the entrance. A clear bag policy will also be enforced, allowing each guest to bring one clear, mesh or similar bag, along with a small clutch. Diaper bags will be permitted if an infant is present, and all bags will be subject to inspection.
