CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — The Cape Warming Center is urgently seeking volunteers and meal support as it prepares to open during what is expected to be one of the coldest nights of the season.
Center officials said all volunteer shifts remain open for tonight, despite serving 27 guests during the most recent cold-weather activation. Organizers are asking community members to sign up wherever possible as temperatures are expected to remain within activation parameters for the foreseeable future.
Volunteers can register through the center’s online sign-up page.
In addition, the Cape Warming Center is requesting assistance with providing breakfast for Thursday morning, along with meal support for upcoming days. Meal train sign-ups are also available online.
Organizers encouraged residents to share the request and help ensure guests have a warm, safe place to stay during extreme cold conditions.
