Carbondale Fire Department to host ‘Chill Out in the Park’ event Wednesday

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) — Families looking to beat the heat are invited to Attucks Park on Wednesday for a free community event hosted by the Carbondale Park District and the Carbondale Fire Department.

According to the Carbondale Park District, Chill Out in the Park will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Attucks Park, 800 N. Wall St.

Children will have the chance to cool off as firefighters spray water from a Carbondale Fire Department fire truck.

The event is free and open to the public.
