Carbondale launches ‘Let It Glow’ holiday lights contest

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The City of Carbondale is inviting residents to showcase their holiday spirit through its annual “Let It Glow” Holiday Lights Decorating Contest.

Residents can submit photos of their outdoor holiday displays now through December 22 by emailing contest@carbondaleil.gov. Submissions should include the participant’s name, address and a telephone number. All entries will be featured on a holiday lights tour map for the community to enjoy. The winning display will receive a $50 gift card to Cotton’s Ace Hardware.

City officials say they look forward to seeing the creativity and festive displays throughout the community.

Carbondale describes itself as a welcoming, culturally diverse city that embraces new ideas, outdoor adventure and urban amenities, encouraging residents and visitors to “express yourself and be yourself… in all ways.”
