Carbondale man facing burglary charge after police find him hiding in building

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A Carbondale man faces burglary and other charges after police found him hiding in a commercial building.

Carbondale police officers responded to the 600 block of East College Street at 3:49 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18 regarding a burglary in progress at a commercial building.

Officers found evidence of forced entry and began a search of the building.

They found Brian C. Brennan, 43, of Carbondale hiding in the building.

Police say Brennan was in the process of burglarizing the building when officers arrived.

Brennan faces charges of burglary, criminal trespassing and possession of burglary tools. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.

The investigation into the incident is active and ongoing.
