Carbondale NAACP to host Martin Luther King Jr. Day Scholarship Breakfast

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The NAACP Carbondale Branch will host its Martin Luther King Jr. Day Scholarship Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at the SIU Student Center.

Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m., followed by the program at 8:30 a.m. The event’s keynote address will be delivered by Everick Turner.

The annual breakfast celebrates Dr. King’s legacy and supports scholarships through the local NAACP branch. Admission is $10 for adults, with a reduced rate for children.
