Carbondale police arrest man after shots fired report
CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Police arrested a 53-year-old man after responding to a report of shots fired in the 2700 block of West Chautauqua on June 30, 2025.
Danny L. Davis, of Carbondale, was taken into custody after a witness reported seeing him exit an apartment and fire a gun into the air multiple times. The witness also reported that Davis pointed the firearm at them.
Officers recovered a firearm and charged Davis with reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Davis, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms.
He was jailed in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing. The investigation is ongoing, and police encourage anyone with information to contact the department at (618) 549-2121 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
