Carbondale police arrest man with Cape Girardeau warrant

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Police arrested a Columbia, Mo. man in Carbondale, Ill. for a warrant out of Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Preston I. Walden, 31, of Columbia, Mo. is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, unlawful possession of ammunition, resisting a peace officer, and the original warrant out of Cape Girardeau County, Mo.
On June 15 around 7:30 p.m. Carbondale police officers responded to a home on the 700 block of South Lewis Lane where they located Walden.
Walden had an active warrant out of Cape Girardeau, Mo for a firearms violation.
Walden tried to run from police but was arrested. Officers along with the help of Jackson County State’s Attorney were granted a warrant to search the home. Police say they found firearms and ammunition.
Walden was booked into Jackson County Jail. This investigation remains active.
