Carbondale police arrest suspect in commercial burglary

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — City of Carbondale police officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a business in the 2200 block of East Main Street on Feb. 8, 2025, at 11:02 p.m.

While en route, officers learned a suspect was spotted on the roof of the business, which had previously reported property damage and stolen items.

The suspect, Daniel K. Patterson, 36, of Carbondale, attempted to flee but was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.

Patterson was charged with commercial burglary, criminal damage to property and resisting a police officer. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
