CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police are looking for two men suspected in a shooting in April.

On April 20 at 7:15 p.m., Carbondale police officers responded to the area of South Cedarview Street and Lynda Drive regarding a report of shots fired.

Officers say a suspect fired several shots from a maroon vehicle before leaving the area traveling west on Lynda Street.

Detectives identified the suspect as Jaden D. Bradley, 24, of Carbondale.

Tavaris L Hill, 23, of Murphysboro was identified as providing aid to Bradley in concealing his whereabouts.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Bradley for aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

A separate warrant for concealing or aiding a fugitive was granted for Hill.

Neither Bradley nor Hill have been located by law enforcement.

“We’re going to find the person who does it,” said Jackson County State’s Attorney Joseph Cervantez. “And I think the young adults and juveniles in our community, they need to know that they will get caught.”

“These two individual suspects were identified as taking part of the shooting in Carbondale on April 17, identified fairly quickly after the shooting. Our office filed charges on them by information and issued arrest warrants. Since then, they still have not been located. So we’re asking for the public’s help in locating them and bringing them to justice,” said Cervatez. “Since February 2024, we had shooting here and I think in every in every incident our law enforcement has job identifying suspects that information to our office so that we can quickly have a number of arrests for shooting and weapons since February.”

“I’m proud that we’re able to do that type of work and I’m proud to work with the law enforcement that we have here in Jackson County.”

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts Bradley or Hill is encouraged to call the Carbondale Police Department at (618) 549-2121. Tipsters may also call the Carbondale/SIU Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (618) 549-COPS (2677) or the Murphysboro/Jackson County anonymous tip line at (618) 687-COPS (2677).
