Carbondale Police Department inviting public to mental health awareness event

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The Carbondale Police Department is inviting the public to attend a Mental Health Awareness Month event Thursday at the Town Square Pavilion in downtown Carbondale.

The event is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 116 N. Illinois Ave.

According to the department, the event will feature local mental health advocates, community agencies, city leaders and partner organizations focused on promoting mental health awareness, education and support resources.

Attendees will have opportunities to hear from guest speakers, participate in workshops and discussions, and connect with local organizations offering mental health services and support.

The event is free and open to the public. Officials encouraged residents of all ages to attend and learn more about mental health resources available in the community.
