2 face charges after Carbondale police find stolen firearm, narcotics
CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Two Carbondale men face charges after police found a stolen firearm and narcotics.
Malik M. Reeves, 24, of Carbondale faces unlawful use of a weapon, violation of bail bond, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a stolen firearm charges.
David D. Ward, 23, of Carbondale was arrested on a Jackson County warrant. Ward posted bond and was released pending court.
While working on other active investigations, Carbondale police detectives identified individuals involved in illegal weapons possession.
Detectives got a search warrant for a home in the 6000 block of Old Highway 13.
On February 24, Carbondale police officers and detectives executed the search warrant.
Detectives found two firearms, one of which had previously been reported stolen, as well as narcotics.
Reeves was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
