Carbondale police highlight child ID kits, community outreach at family event

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) – The Carbondale Police Department is reminding families about a resource aimed at child safety.
The department offers child identification kits for parents and guardians, officials said.
Victim Advocate Elizabeth Sears, Community Information Officer Randy Mathis and Crime Scene Specialist Dan Reed recently attended the SIU-C Head Start Family Wellness Event to share safety information and resources with families.
Police thanked those who attended and said the department is available to participate in future community events. Residents interested in having officers attend an event are encouraged to contact the department.
