Carbondale police investigate fatal stabbing incident

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — A 63-year-old man is dead after being stabbed in the chest during a domestic dispute, police said.

Gary L. Starks, of Carbondale, was found in the roadway in the 500 block of East Birch Street late Monday night, according to the Carbondale Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene at 11:53 p.m. and began life-saving measures on Starks, who was transported to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale but succumbed to his injuries.

Yoshiko L. Bradsfield, 60, of Carbondale, was charged with first-degree murder and taken into custody.
