Carbondale police investigate traffic crash, driver arrested for DUI

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) – A traffic crash involving two vehicles occurred on April 10, 2025, at 8:32 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Illinois Avenue. Three occupants suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at the emergency room.

During the investigation, officers determined the driver of one vehicle, Samuel W. Brown, 37, of Carbondale, was impaired.

Brown was arrested for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failure to Yield while Turning Left.

He was released on citations pending a court appearance.
