Carbondale police investigating fight at sporting event

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police officers responded to a large fight Saturday night.

It happened in the 800 block of West High Street. Police were called around 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 9.

Officers found a group of around 300 people that were attending a sporting event.

Police say the fighting ended and no one cooperated with the investigation at the scene.

There were reports that a knife was used during the fight. However, officers did not locate any weapons. No one reported any injuries while at the scene.

One juvenile victim met with officers later at the police department and reported a minor injury that did not require medical attention. The investigation is active and ongoing.
