Carbondale police investigating hit and run

CARBODALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police are investigating a hit and run that happened early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the 400 block of East Walnut Street for a report of a person who had been struck by a vehicle around 1:47 a.m. on May 25.

The victim was taken by ambulance to the emergency room for non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers learned a silver four-door car with dark windows struck the victim who was walking in the roadway.

Police say the driver left without providing help or leaving her information.

Police say it is likely the suspect’s vehicle had noticeable damage.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
