Carbondale police investigating retail theft

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Police are investigating after a business reported a theft on July 10.
A Carbondale police officer responded to a business in the 1700 block of West Main Street on Monday at 5:24 p.m. in reference to a report of a retail theft.
Police say a juvenile male stole firearms related items from the business. Store employees apprehended the juvenile.
He was found to be in possession of a firearm, according to the Carbondale Police Department.
Officers arrested the juvenile.
After consulting with the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, the juvenile was released to a family member.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
