Carbondale police investigating shooting death

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police are investigating the shooting death of a man early Saturday morning.

Police responded to the 800 block of East Grand Avenue at 1:27 a.m. on Saturday, January 21.

Officers found a male with a gunshot wound inside an apartment. The identity of the victim is not being released pending notifications to family and loved ones.

Police say there are no known threats to the public at this time.

The Carbondale Police Department requested assistance from the Illinois State Police to lead the investigation.
