CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — On Saturday, Chief Copeland, along with Officers Knighton, Ladove and Cohen, joined the Pack the Pantry food drive at Kroger to benefit the Carbondale Elementary School District 95 school pantry.
The goal of the event was to restock the pantry and help ensure no child in the community goes hungry.
The food drive was supported by Kroger, the University of Illinois Extension, Carbondale Elementary School District 95, and community members who contributed to the cause.
“The Carbondale Police Department always appreciates the opportunity to support programs that care for the needs of our community, such as the District 95 food pantries,” Chief Copeland said.
