Carbondale police looking for person of interest after shots fired

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police are looking for a person of interest after a report of shots fired Saturday night.

Carbondale police officers responded to the 700 block of South Lewis Lane at 10:51 p.m. on April 27 for a report of shots fired.

Officers found that the suspects already left.

Officers say a person of interest was seen walking into the area where the shots were fired then ran on foot at about the time of shots fired.

The male suspect was last seen running north from the area. He is described as a black male wearing a green or dark blue hoody, dark pants and white shoes.

No injuries were reported. However, two vehicles at the scene were damaged.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
