Carbondale police looking for suspect after several reports of property damage

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – The city of Carbondale Police Department is investigating several reports of criminal damage to property.

Police say the damage happened between June 27 and June 30 between midnight and 5 a.m. in the 800, 900, 1400, and 1800 blocks of West Main Street, as well as the 100 block of North Illinois Avenue.

Four of the five time it occurred at a law firms and involved the suspect damaging property with rocks or pieces of concrete, according to police.

The most recent incident involved damage to a retail store.

The suspect was captured on surveillance video wearing a dark-colored “Huk” brand shirt, a white and blue or black hat, and hiking-style boots or shoes.

Police believe incidents are related.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
