Carbondale police release name of man who died after stabbing

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Carbondale police released the name of the man who died after he was stabbed on July 20.

Police say Traeshonne D. Blythe, 31, of Carbondale died as a result of being stabbed in the 500 block of East Sycamore.

The investigation revealed that no one was a victim of a gunshot wound as was initially reported.

Police have not released the names of other people involved as they have not been charged with any offenses.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
