Carbondale police seek public’s help locating missing 65-year-old man

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) – The Carbondale Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Stanley G. Haywood, 65, of Carbondale, who has been reported missing and is considered endangered.

Haywood was last seen on the afternoon of Oct. 31, 2025, in the 1100 block of West Main Street in Carbondale. He is described as 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 280 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. There is no known clothing description at this time.

Police say Haywood suffers from a condition that places him in danger.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Carbondale Police Department at 618-549-2121 or provide an anonymous tip through Carbondale/SIU Crime Stoppers at 618-549-COPS (2677) or Murphysboro/Jackson County Crime Stoppers at 618-687-COPS (2677).

Anonymous tips may also be submitted online by selecting the “Crime Stoppers” tab on the department’s website.

The Carbondale Police Department reminds the public that cash rewards are available for information leading to an arrest.
