Carbondale summer interns complete 2026 program

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Participants in the City of Carbondale’s 2026 Summer Internship Program are completing their final week.

Throughout the summer, interns took part in activities focused on professional and personal development.

They learned about civic engagement and community service, worked with the city’s Forestry and Parks departments to beautify Carbondale and developed communication and team-building skills through a weekly Lunch and Learn series.

City officials thanked the interns for their enthusiasm, work and commitment to serving the community.
