Carbondale to host free workshop on facilitating difficult conversations

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The City of Carbondale will host a free two-day training workshop on May 23-24 to equip attendees with skills to lead constructive and inclusive dialogues about difficult topics.

The 8-hour workshop, “At the Table and Beyond: Facilitating Difficult Conversations Toward Action and Collaboration,” will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carbondale Civic Center.

The workshop aims to provide tools and concepts to help maintain peace, balance of power and inclusiveness in dialogues, particularly those about racial inequity.

Registration is required for the certificate-granting workshop, which is open to the public.
