Carrie Ovey-Wiggins appointed Interim Commonwealth Attorney following Stacy’s death

WESTERN Ky., (KBSI) — Following the death of longtime Commonwealth Attorney Mike Stacy, Attorney General Russell Coleman has appointed Carrie Ovey-Wiggins as the temporary commonwealth attorney for the 1st Judicial Circuit.

Stacy passed away on April 29 in Hickman County after a car crash.

Ovey-Wiggins, currently serving her second term as commonwealth attorney for the 56th Judicial Circuit, brings extensive experience to the role.

Her father, G.L. Ovey, held the position for 27 years, and she has previously served as an assistant commonwealth attorney.

Ovey-Wiggins will be supported by existing staff, including two assistant commonwealth attorneys, a commonwealth detective, a victim’s advocate, and an administrative assistant.
