Carterville man accused of burglary, truck theft at Carbondale storage facility

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A man already behind bars faces new charges after a burglary at a storage facility in Carbondale.

Officers responded to a storage facility in the 1500 block of Reed’s Station Road on May 29.

Officers learned the suspect entered the property and stole items. One of those items was a 2008 white Ford Ranger truck.

Detectives identified Cody L. McKenzie, 32, of Carterville as a suspect.

McKenzie was behind bars in the Williamson County Jail on unrelated charges.

Detectives met with McKenzie.

He faces an additional charges of motor vehicle theft.

McKenzie is now in the Jackson County Jail.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
