Caruthersville Elementary students learn bus safety, emergency procedures

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Caruthersville Elementary School students spent part of the school day learning how to safely ride and exit a school bus, including what to do during an emergency.

Students worked with Dr. Jennifer Vandeven and School Resource Officer Burgess to review bus procedures and safety rules.

Photos shared by the school show students practicing procedures at the rear emergency exit of a school bus as part of the hands-on safety lesson.

The training also covered steps students should take in the event of an emergency while riding a school bus.
