Centerstone to host fourth annual Life;Story 5K for suicide prevention

MARION, Ill., (KBSI) — Centerstone will host its fourth annual Life;Story 5K Run/Walk for Suicide Prevention on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Ray Fosse Park in Marion.
The event brings communities together to support people affected by suicide and promote hope, healing and connection. Proceeds will help Centerstone provide mental health and addiction services to people with limited or no resources.
The semicolon in Life;Story represents a pause rather than an ending and reflects the message that every person’s story has more ahead.
Ray Fosse Park will open at 7 a.m. The kids dash will begin at 8 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony at 8:15 a.m. The 5K will start at 8:30 a.m., with the Life;Story program and awards scheduled for 9:45 a.m.
The event is open to participants of all abilities. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted on the course. Participants will receive an event shirt and finisher medal.
Registration costs $40 for adults and $25 for participants ages 5 to 17. The kids dash, open to children ages 3 to 12, costs $20. Discounts are available for first responders, military members and veterans.
A virtual 5K and an untimed event in Godfrey are also available.
