CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — Century Casinos announced Tuesday a partnership with BetMGM to introduce sports betting to Missouri, pending state regulatory approvals and licensing.

The agreement would allow BetMGM to operate online and mobile sports wagering under Century’s Missouri license, with the potential for retail sportsbooks at Century’s casino properties.

“We’re hoping that we can work together to create something that’s really special for the community and for the region,” said Lyle Randolph, Century Casino’s General Manager and Vice President of Operations. “Having a physical location for people to come to is important.”

Century Casinos operates in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Randolph said the addition of sports betting presents new opportunities, particularly around major sporting events for the local community.

“When you think about March Madness and the Super Bowl, those are big draws at casinos with sports betting,” he said. “This gives us a chance to really be a player in those events.”

The partnership reflects a growing trend of collaboration between casino operators and digital sportsbook platforms, as states like Missouri weigh the expansion of legalized sports gambling.
