Chaffee man faces burglary, stealing charges in Cape Girardeau County

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Chaffee man faces burglary and stealing charges after Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a burglary at a business.

Deputies received a call on March 20 about a business burglary that had occurred off Nash Road in Cape Girardeau County.

Approximately $4,000 worth of tools were taken from the business, according to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies identified suspect Christian Neil Smith, 32, from Chaffee as a suspect. Smith faces charges of Class D felony of burglary and Class D felony of stealing.

This warrant came with a bond of $15,000.

Smith is in custody in another county and will be transferred back to Cape Girardeau County to face his charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
