Chainsaw carving transforms storm-damaged tree into art at Perryville Park

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — A damaged tree in City Park has been transformed into a piece of public art following a chainsaw carving project, city officials said.

The carving, completed by Luca Chainsaw Carving, repurposed the remaining base of a tree that was damaged when its top was destroyed by a tornado last year.

Officials said the project drew community interest as residents stopped by to watch the progress and follow along during its creation.

City leaders thanked the artist for contributing the work and encouraged the public to visit the park to view the finished piece.
