Charleston R-I School District holds ‘Back to School Bash’
CHARLESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Charleston R-I School District joins community leaders for the first-ever “Back to School Bash” in conjunction with “SchoolFest 2023 on Monday.
Charleston Public schools are making sure every student has what they need to start the school year.
“We have over twenty-five organizations that have come together to supply all the necessary school supplies for every student in the Charleston R-1 school district as well as our local perigeal schools.” Says marketing director of focus bank Anna Ferrell.
Lots of folks came out to enjoy this free event at the Charleston high school, but even more are expected throughout the day. At least a thousand school kids will benefit from this.
Charleston high school Senior Marnika Turk says “It has a huge effect on the community, a big effect because the community doesn’t do anything, so this is bringing us together with different people not even our age and generations.”
This event doesn’t just effect students but parents and teachers as well since they don’t have to financially worry about students having every thing they need to start the school year.
School starts on August twenty third for for Charleston R-1 school district.
It ran from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Charleston High School located at 606 South Thorn Street in Charleston grades PreK-12 and families. Parents and students came to get ready for the upcoming school year.
