Charleston woman facing felony stealing charge

(KBSI) – A Charleston woman faces a felony stealing charge.
Jessica D. Welch, 46, was arrested on August 5 on one count of felony stealing of $750 or more.
Welch’s arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Troop E Criminal Investigations Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.
On July 28, 2023, the Mississippi County Prosecuting Attorney Claire Poley requested the MHSP’s Division of Drug and Crime Control investigate allegations of stealing, committed by a former Charleston R-1 School District employee, Jessica Welch.
Welch was arrested for an active Mississippi County warrant on August 5.
This arrest followed the Mississippi County Prosecuting Attorney formally charging Welch with one count of stealing of $750 or more.
Welch posted a $10,000 cash/surety bond.
