Checkr ranks Cape Girardeau #4 for new college grads in 2025

According to the report, Cape Girardeau, tops the list at #4 of overall best cities for new college grads, thanks to its strong job prospects, low cost of living and thriving cultural scene.

In the large city category, Des Moines, Iowa, ranks first, offering a unique blend of affordability and career potential. Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Madison, Wisconsin, follow closely behind.

The top mid-sized city is Lincoln, Nebraska, which boasts a strong job market and low cost of living. Columbia, Missouri, and Kalamazoo, Michigan, also make the top three.

For small cities, Iowa City, Iowa, takes the top spot, offering exceptional career opportunities, affordability and cultural vibrancy. Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Grand Forks, North Dakota, round out the top three.
