CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Shopping for Christmas gifts is at the top of a lot of to-do lists.  But if you plan to do more cyber shopping than local, you should be aware of courier deadlines.

This year, Adobe Analytics found that Black Friday sales in the U.S. set a new record, surpassing $9 billion.  But, once you have the gifts, you may need to ship them. As the holiday shipping rush is underway, shipping companies like UPS are increasing capacity and hiring more seasonal workers, aiming to avoid delays and have presents delivered by Christmas Eve.

U.S. Postal Service has a Retail Ground Deadline of Dec. 17  and Priority Mail by the 19th.

UPS ground shipping varies by location and can take anywhere from one to five business days.

Fed Ex’s ground and Freight delivery deadline is Dec. 14 with express and 3 day by Dec. 20.
