Christopher man charged with arson after apartment fire

CHRISTOPHER, Ill., (KBSI) — A man has been arrested in connection with an apartment fire Wednesday evening in Christopher, police said.

Shon M. Middleton, 48, was booked into the Franklin County Jail on one count of aggravated arson.

The fire broke out in the 400 block of Sylvia Avenue. Authorities said the blaze caused major damage to the building, but no injuries were reported.

Multiple departments responded, including fire crews from Christopher, Benton, Buckner, Coello, Sesser, Valier and Zeigler.
