City of Cape Girardeau celebrates Parks and Rec Day July 6

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The month of July is Parks and Recreation month. To celebrate, the City of Cape Girardeau is hold a special Parks and Rec Day on July 6.

“We’re so excited that July is national Park and recreation month and we’re kicking it off tonight with a proclamation signing at our city council meeting and tomorrow (Wednesday) we have a whole slew of events taking place with the Osage Centre,” said Recreation Division Manager Penny Williams.

Parks and Rec Day will take place at the Osage Centre from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Osage Centre is located at 1625 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.

The free event includes ice cream, crafts, games and prizes. The fire and police departments will also make an appearance.
