City of Carbondale and SIU honor veterans during campus ceremony

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The City of Carbondale and Southern Illinois University Carbondale joined together Tuesday morning to honor veterans and active-duty service members during a Veterans Day Ceremony held on the SIU campus.

City officials and university representatives gathered to pay tribute to students, community members, and individuals across the nation who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

“We extend our deepest gratitude and take great pride in the sacrifices made by those who have served our country,” the city said in a statement.
